cost prescriptions to the residents of DeSoto County.

information and education to DeSoto County residents.
United Way of Sarasota, $25,000 (2005),
$2,000 (2006).
These monies were used to provide
urgent/emergent vouchers to eligible individuals who needed
their medications immediately and could not wait the normal
4-6 weeks to obtain medications through various
Pharmaceutical Compassionate Drug Programs. Vouchers were
taken to local participating pharmacies where the individual
was able to have their prescriptions filled without any cost
to the client. Through this gracious contribution, DHRI was
able to cover the costs of these prescriptions.

funding through a mini flex grant to assist in prescription
assistance.
